Sweet Home for Traveling Family

Residence Design by Ting-Yan Chen

There are few new buildings, adjacent to the Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station which provides the convenience of traffic network, which are located at the wild open redevelopment zone. The environment, on this area, reflects the spatial style in an emerging redevelopment zone. With the great view, moderate population, fresh air and much sunlight, the residence, in this project, is a pleasant and comfortable place good for living.

The Sweet Home for Traveling Family, designed by Ting-Yan Chen, is a unique residence that combines functionality and aesthetics. The designer's inspiration came from the surrounding environment, which offers a convenient location and a pleasant living atmosphere. The open-style strategy adopted in this design allows for the integration of spaces with different spatial characteristics, creating a visually stunning effect.

One of the standout features of this design is the use of wooden veneers on the walls, symbolizing family unity and cooperation. The wooden veneers not only add a touch of warmth to the space but also create a deeper visual impact. In the study room, three iron sliding door panels are arranged in a way that forms a geometric painting. When placed together in the right sequence, these panels create a harmonious symphony, showcasing the beauty of scales in real life.

The dining room features a frosted grey back wall, which not only mitigates the reflection of lights but also cleverly connects the characteristics of migratory birds with travelers. Each space in this design tells its own unique story, making the residence a truly captivating and engaging place to live.

The Sweet Home for Traveling Family spans 119 square meters and was completed in March 2016 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The design project was a result of extensive research on structural aesthetics and overcame challenges in creating an open-style living area that maximizes visual impact.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2017. The award is a testament to the well-designed, practical, and innovative nature of the Sweet Home for Traveling Family. It showcases the integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world and providing fulfillment and positive feelings to its inhabitants.
